In addition to your blood donation
The American Red Cross will be testing for COVID-19 antibodies. This test is being offered as an additional service on all completed blood donations. No additional blood will need to be taken to complete the test.
The antibody test is authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and will indicate if the immune system has produced antibodies to the coronavirus, regardless of whether symptoms were present. This test is not to diagnose current symptoms, referred to as a diagnostic test. If you feel unwell, please postpone your donation. Results of your antibody test will be available in your Blood Donor App, or in your donor profile on RedCrossBlood.org about one week after your donation. Learn more . We are hoping those that may have had COVID, some having been symptom free, will then donate plasma that is showing to help in the treatment of COVID patients that are struggling at this time.
Making an appointment to help save lives has never been easier!
We are wanting to minimize walk-ins so we are asking appointments be made online.
If you need help scheduling your appointment or have questions regarding your donation, you can call our Red Cross rep, Anita Kay at (801) 367-2331. She will be happy to help in any way!
